Recently, my youngest son and I listened to an episode of one of my regular podcasts - Power User by tech journalist, Taylor Lorenz.

The episode hosted physicist and science journalist Adam Becker to discuss his book around the idea of the tech billionaires colonizing Mars and how, just with lack of gravity alone, it would be near impossible pursuit.

There are so many incredible habitats, animals and built environments I've yet to explore on this earth. So, I'm confounded when people talk about wanting to go to Mars.

But maybe...

✈️ They've travelled more and feel they've seen it all and feel Mars offers the next adventure?

👽 Are fascinated with extraterrestrial life? I understand lots of people are.

🛰️ Are dazzled by Elon Musk's vision?

Listening to this scientist detailing how inhabiting Mars is a physical impossibility, it's hard to comprehend how these influences above ⬆️ could override the scientific facts.

But maybe it's our very human-ness; our imagination, and fanciful thinking, (earthiness, you could say) that gives us this ability to override the science?

The irony? The human-ness can only play out on earth. Preferably with a cup of Chai Supply in hand ;)
